Accessibility
We aim for a readable layout with clear text, labeled links, and keyboard-friendly navigation so visitors can review pages without barriers.
If any part of the site is hard to use, contact the office and a team member will share the same information another way.
Phone, email, and in-person meeting options are available for homeowners who prefer to talk through plans and estimates without using the website.
Effective October 19, 2026
Southern Maine ADU Builders wants the website to be usable for the widest reasonable audience, including homeowners who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, high-contrast displays or reduced-motion settings. We review accessibility as part of maintaining the site and welcome reports of barriers.
What we try to do
Pages are built with meaningful headings so the structure makes sense in a screen reader and in a plain reading order. Body text uses readable sizes and sufficient contrast, and the typography does not rely on color alone to carry meaning.
Links describe where they lead rather than relying on phrases like "click here."
Interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard. Focus states are visible so you can see where you are on the page.
Where animation appears, we respect the reduced-motion setting in your browser or operating system and avoid long, auto-playing effects that cannot be dismissed. We do not install accessibility overlays that take control of the page on your behalf.
Reporting a problem
If something on the site is hard or impossible to use, please tell us. The quickest ways are a short email to info@southernmaineadubuilders.com or a call to (207) 417-4918.
Please include the page URL where the problem happened, a brief description of what you tried to do, and what assistive technology or browser you were using. That detail helps us reproduce the issue quickly and respond with something useful.
We cannot promise an immediate response, but we read every message a person sends, and we will reply with what we found and what we plan to change. If a particular page is blocking you from reaching us, the phone number and email address above are a direct alternative to the contact form.
Documents and third-party content
Some pages may link to town code documents, trade references or other PDFs that we did not create. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of files produced by third parties.
If you need information from one of those documents in another format, ask us by phone or email and we will do our best to help you get the content you need in a form that works.
Changes
We update this statement as the website changes. The effective date at the top moves when that happens.
